«We look at the world once, in childhood.
The rest is memory.»

Louise Gluck, American poet, Nobel 2020

My name is Alexis Foukos. And like all adults, I used to be a child. I was a child who “saw”, from a very early age, the hard side of life, losing one of my eyes. I started seeing the world in a different way  and the world started seeing me differently. I felt the being stared at, I heard the whispers, I slipped from hugs and I was considered defeated by strangers and acquaintances, before I even had the chance to fight. I do not remember the strangers, anymore. They injured me as much as they could. But the people who were in charge of me did not hold my hand, they did not hear what I had to say and they did not see what I wanted to show them.

I’m still this kid. And if I am winning this race, I fought twice as hard as all the others. These days a huge dialogue has been opened about child abuse. And I feel their trauma inside me. Because they will always be those children.

See What Eye See
Brand

The idea was born several years ago in my mind, wanting to get my own voice in the field of design and to share with my fellow human beings the way I see the world. A year ago, my team and I started to create a series of clothes and objects – still in design form – with the main focus on the new perspective on things, visibility and aesthetics. With the Eye as our center of inspiration, as the main means by which we perceive the world around us, we have included in our project phrases related to vision, opening a large umbrella in messages about ecology, equality, minorities, weak social groups but also the Greek cultural identity. However our ultimate goal is to open a supply network to similar organizations and institutions, through micro-projects whose profits will reach organizations that are part of the solution.

See What Eye See
Store

Our physical store operates at 82 Adrianou Street, in Plaka. There, in addition to the See What Eye See series, we gathered clothes, items and accessories from valuable partners from all over Greece, with whom we share common aesthetic stimuli but also with major foreign brands, such as our favorite Goorinbros and its unique hats. In the section of seewhateyesee.gr, Shop Best Sellers, you can find a limited number of the store’s products every week. We look forward to meeting you up close!
